The state is a paradise for those who love sports like diving, surfing, hang-gliding, hiking, mountain climbing, canoeing and white-water rafting. The Itajaí River, located at Vale do Itajaí, offers the best rapids in Brazil to enjoy rafting.
Activities included in this package are done in a mountainous region, near the Catarinense coastline. The Mata Atlantica surrounds the area with its lush subtropical rain forest. Rafting is developed inside a deep valley covered by Mata Atlantica Rainforest.
Rafting Adventure Package – 5D/4N includes:
Accommodation: one-night accommodations in a pousada (bed & breakfast), one night camping, and two nights at the Paradiso Rodeio hotel.
Tours:
- Rafting in the Cubatão River, Tijucas River, Itajaí-Açú (Classe II – VI rapids)
- Rappelling
- Canyoning (Rappelling down watterfalls), or Cascading down several waterfalls (depending on climatic conditions)
- Trekking through forest trails
- Visiting amazing waterfalls in Itajai Valley, Santa Luzia, and the outstanding Grota Funda waterfall (12 meters high)
- Visiting an authentic sugar-cane cachaça (brandy) distillery
Transportation: transfers and tours in private vehicles with English-speaking guide. Due to nature of some tours the vehicles might not be air-conditioned.
Adventure Rating: easy to moderate (Rafting Level II-IV). Difficult level rafting (Level V) is only possible with previous rafting experience (under favorable weather conditions). Children under 14 year of age are not permited on this tour.
Group size: any group size.
Tour staff and support: the main guide of the group is English-speaking to help you better understand your Rafting Adventure experience. Rafting guides have First-Aid and Rescue courses in rapids.
Suggested gear to bring: sleeping bag, sun block, sneakers (water shoes for rafting), shorts, t-shirts (lycra/cotton), towel, personal toiletries.
